Back To Work

Back to work after the most amazing year of my life. I can honestly say that I adored every single minute of my time of with my little precious, yes, there were plenty of tough times,  however the good definitely outweighed the rough. And back to work today. As I have mentioned before, we are so fortunate to have Molly looking after Ali for the summer. They had a great day today, and they even came to meet me for lunch down town. What an awesome treat. I had a pretty emotional week leading up to today, so I was predicting today would have been a bit of a doozy, however it went very smooth. It was nice to get back and catch up with everyone. There were even some aspects that I am excited about, which will very quickly become old I am sure, for example wearing jewellery again, dressing up, drinking a hot coffee and finally being able to carry a purse.

Happy Easter

We had a great Easter weekend. Saturday we attended Penny's first birthday party, what a great day with friends. Then Easter Sunday, we spent the day with family. We took Alexandra over to Safeway so that she could sit with the Easter bunny. We also brought Ali's easter basket to mom & dads so that everyone could be there while she opened her basket. Mom & Dad also got Ali a really cute UV hat and a little dress that is to die for. Such a fun weekend.

11 Months

11 Months?!?!? I know I say this every time, but seriously, 11 months already? I heard someone say the other day that when we spend our days with little ones, the days go by slow, but the weeks and months fly by. Well isn’t that the truth! I go back to work in a measly 2 ½ weeks and I can’t believe I am saying this, but I am actually looking forward to it. Don’t get me wrong, leaving Alexandra will probably be the hardest thing that I have ever had to do, but I know it will be good for both of us. We are VERY VERY attached to each other so I think this time apart will help both of us grow, and who am I kidding, I know it will be way harder on me then her. Alexandra still to this day prefers to be held, and I have been told when going back to work babies can be very clingy so I am bracing myself for some major attachment time when I get home from work in the evenings. I have already warned Rockson that he will have to cook dinner for the first few weeks as I imagine I will have a toddler attached to me at all times. I am looking forward to the adult time I will get once back at work and entering that new stage of our lives. I am not sure if I have mentioned before but we are so fortunate to have Molly looking after Alexandra for the summer. It is perfect timing as Molly finishes school this week and doesn’t go back until September. She is going to come into our house every day and nanny Ali for the summer. I think I would be in a whole other situation if I had to start sending Ali to day care in 2 ½ weeks, it makes me sick to my stomach to even think about it. :/

I am looking forward to this month to come, lots of exciting things in the near future. We have three birthday parties coming up of the little ones in our babies group as well as planning Ali’s birthday party which will be held on May 10th. Also, very exciting new, Rockson’s mom is coming to visit in May. It will be the first time she has met Ali and we haven’t seen her since we got married two years ago. She will be staying with us in our tiny little condo so it will be very cozy for a little bit, but I can’t wait. Also, the weather is getting nice…finally. We actually sat on a patio today for lunch, Awesome! It was 18 degrees out. Yahoo.

Weight: 18lbs. 2oz.
Clothing: 6-12 months in Baby Gap and 9 months in Carters. Although she has gone through a major growth spurt as of lately….I can definitely notice her pants getting short on her and I even think she is starting to outgrow her 3-6 month shoes ;)
Feeding: I hate to say, but were still hit and miss. However in saying that, we are transitioning off the boob these next 2 weeks as I get ready for work. She has never taken a bottle or had formula and doesn’t like milk, so we’ll see what kind of transition this will be. I think she’ll just learn to eat better because she sure won’t want to go hungry, that won’t help her round little figure ;)
Milestones: Wow, I feel like lot’s has changed over the past month in this category. She is standing unassisted for about 15 seconds. She tries to take the odd step here and there, but falls flat on her face. Her first words were ‘bye bye’ and ‘uh-oh’ and again, something only a mother could make out. But she knows the correct time to say them and it is too cute for words. She will clap her hands on command and often claps every time we say, ‘good girl’. And the absolute best milestone is…she gives kisses, and they are the best little kisses in the world. Just thinking about getting kisses from my daughter makes me tear up.
Loves: Lots of loves, she loves to give kisses, loves to dance. She loves bath time and swimming. I hate to say but she loves Doritos L she chases Rockson around the house when he is eating a bag of chips. I swear she would do nearly anything for a bite of his chips. She loves other children and goes crazy over the swings at the park. There are many more things she loves, but hard to think of everything.
Hates: Nothing has changed, she still hates her stroller. Even today we tried to go for a walk with a friend, and no joke, I had to carry her and push the stroller the whole way. She is not a fan of the car. HATES having her hair washed.
