8 Months

Happy 8 month birthday Alexandra. I feel like I say this on the 9th of every month, but wow does time fly. I can remember people always told me that the time will fly right before my very eyes and she will be walking before I know it, but let me tell you, when she was about 6 days old and crying non stop I didn't think the days were going fast enough. My oh my how the time has changed. Alexandra has grown into such a lovely little baby (as long as she gets her naps). She is so smiley, loves to laugh and adores being around other kids. She is a real blessing.

Weight: 17lb 7oz
Clothing Size: 6-12 months
Feeding:  Alexandra is still exclusively breast feeding if you can believe that. She will take the odd bite of rice cereal of fruit here and there but would much rather mom's milk. I thought for sure by now she would be eating solids, but no can do. I even tried waiting until she was really hungry this morning before giving her cereal, but she still didn't want it. I bought her a new kind of cereal that apparently has fruit in it, it tastes like vanilla pudding to me, but still natta. Fingers crossed that for her 9 month post she will be on solids, or when I go back to work, her aunty will be driving downtown every three hours throughout the day.
Milestones: She's a crawling....she was so close for so long, but now its official. While I was getting ready to go out on New Years eve, Rockson brought her into the bedroom and she crawled. Yay Alexandra! However now you know what that means....baby proofing. She is desperate to climb up on things. If there is something at waist height she can climb up. For example if she is sitting on the couch, she can climb up onto the arm of the couch. However she is so close...too close to being able to pull herself up into things like the coffee table. That will require some serious baby proofing. We had to raise the bars on her crib because she discovered how to climb up on those.
Loves: Ali LOVES dogs. It is so cute to see her reaction when we are out and happen to see a dog. She also loves kids and other babies. They always make her grin ear to ear. It is making play dates a lot more fun. And of course....still loves her Bjorn. She doesn't have much longer before she is going to be to heavy for that thing.
Hates: Same as last month, food, her stroller and her snowsuit.

Happy New Years!!

Happy New Years. Wow, I can't believe 2013 has already come and gone. I can remember this time last year I was 5 month pregnant and patiently awaiting Alexandra's arrival. Now this New Years day our precious little girl is nearly 8 months old. We had our traditional New Years eve celebration with the Mellace's and their new addition to the family, little Benjamin who is 4 1/2 months old and what a cutie pie he is. Last night was very low key as we are all lacking sleep these days as we do with little ones. We headed over to Katie & Spencer's around 6:30pm. Katie made a beautiful spread of fingers foods for us to snack on all evening. It was a wonderful night and we headed home at 12:01am in a snow storm.
I have always been one for New Years resolutions because I think they are fun, and because growing up, our Dad always emphasized the importance of setting goals. This year I do have a few new years resolutions and I am sure I will think of more with the days to come. A couple of them are, to get outside and walk more with Alexandra. Walks have always been tough for us because she HATES HATES the stroller. What baby hates the stroller? Alexandra does. So I have always had to resort to putting her in the baby bjorn which was fine when she was little, however now she is very heavy and it hurts my back. However in saying all of that, I still want to be able to get outside with her at least once a day. So we can go for more mini walks. Another resolution I have is to take more photos and to stay on top of them so that I don't have to spend hours at the computer again trying to organize them. And finally (i have this resolution every year) to try and eat everything in our fridge. I feel like we waist and throw out so many groceries. I am always excited for a new year and all of the exciting things to come.
I have added Alexandra's 100 day birthday photo to the bottom of this blog for Grandma Yoo.
P.S. I cant believe i forgot to mention this. Alexandra is officially crawling. She took off for her first time last night while we were getting ready to go. She is still a little wobbly however she is definitely a mobile baby!
