High Tea!

For our Mother's Day gifts, Shannon, D'neile and I decided to take our moms to the High Tea at the Palliser hotel this weekend. It was such a fun afternoon. We really enjoyed the high tea and then headed to Murrieta's after for a martini. What a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Mother's Day

Catch up as you can see -
This was an extra special Mother's Day because we were able to also spend it with Rockson's mom. We had our annual brunch at the Delta hotel which is always so wonderful. There was 9 of us this year, so it was wonderful to have a large group. After brunch, Rockson & Dad went to play golf, Rockson's mom headed to Edmonton, so Alexandra and I went back to hang out with mom for the afternoon. It was such a wonderful relaxing Sunday. I love Mother's Day.

Birthday Party

I know I am a week late, however I just couldn't let this one skip. We had Alexandra's birthday parties last weekend, and they were absolutely wonderful. On her real birthday Alexandra got to meet her Grandma Yoo. We went for a sushi lunch and then had the whole family to our place for a "family birthday party". We just ordered pizza & wings and had a low key night. We attempted a cake smash for Alexandra, however she wanted nothing to do with it.
Saturday we had Alexandra's real birthday party with all her friends. We had such a great turn out and Alexandra had a blast. She received a ton of beautiful gifts. She was very spoiled. Such a fantastic weekend.

One Years Old

Oh my goodness, I cannot believe the time has already come when our baby girls turns one years old. I have read in several other blogs about moms being emotional about their babies embarking the milestone of their first birthday and I never really understood it until now. So let me just grab a tissue… This past year has without a doubt been the best year of my life. I am not going to lie; it was definitely the most difficult year  learning the ropes of having a baby around, however I wouldn’t change it for the world. Alexandra has brought us so much joy and love we cannot get enough of her. She is growing into such an independent little toddler who already wants to do as much as possible on her own, and I know this will only be emphasized as she gets older. Alexandra, thank you so much for all the love that you bring us.
On another note, Grandma Yoo flew in from Korea last night and met Alexandra for the first time on her birthday. It is so exciting for us to have her here for such a special occasion.
To celebrate Alexandra’s birthday, this morning we are having a special French toast breakfast (that’s what Alexandra requested ;) ) We will spend the day hanging out with Grandma and getting ready for the family birthday party tonight. We are having the whole family over for pizza & wings to celebrate and Alexandra will be doing the infamous cake smash. I can’t wait for that. Tomorrow we are having Alexandra’s birthday party at my Mom & Dad’s with all her little friends.
Weight: 19 lbs Length: 28 inches
Clothing: Alexandra is still in her 6-12 month clothes and a lot of 9 month carter’s clothes. As you can see, she is tiny. I believe she is only in about the 20th percentile…she doesn’t get that from me ;) I think she will be in 12-18 months soon though…at least I hope, I am so tired of all her clothes and ready to move onto the next batch!
Feeding: halleluiah we are finally on solids. Alexandra is down to nursing just in the evenings, before bed and if she wakes up in the night. She is doing fairly well with solids and seems to eat much better for Molly. Last night she ate an entire serving of quinoa casserole with kale. A girl after my own heart. She even ate more than Rockson, as he claims he doesn’t like Quinoa.

Milestones: Lots! She is sleeping through the night most nights (knock on wood). All of a sudden one night I guess she decided she didn’t feel the need to wake up anymore and out of the last 7 nights she has slept 11 hours strait 6 of the nights. Yahoo Alexandra! She is taking steps, I wouldn’t say she is full fledged walking, but she will take up to about 12 steps. It is so cute watching her walk. She gets the hugest smile on her face too, because she is just so darn proud of herself. She can quack like a duck and well as say ‘look’. She will point at nearly anything and say “look”. She can drink from a cup, not a sippy cup, but an actual cup.

Loves: She loves giving kisses, loves her bath, LOVES Daniel tiger, she loves anything with a little sugar in it (she most definitely gets that from me :/) She loves going to the park and swinging on the swings and going down the slide. She loves it when we sing “Wheels on the bus”. She loves walking down the hall with her walker. She LOVES LOVES going to play –a-latte, swimming and library classes. There are many things that she loves, tough to think of them all at once.
Hates: Still the stroller. She went through a phase last week where she hated the car; however she seems to be doing better at that which is a relief. She still hates to have her hair washed, which is a huge challenge. She all of a sudden hates sitting in the grocery cart so I had to put her in the Bjorn last weekend when we went…what a pain.
Happy Birthday my precious little girl. I love you to the moon and back.

So Proud of herself for being able to take steps
